Secretariat Attends the Third Annual Report on the Global Peace Index

On June 5, Executive Director Dr. Lucinda Mosher and Administrative Assistant Ariana Alejandro visited UN Headquarters to attend Strengthening the Peace-Development Nexus – Insights from the Global Peace Index. This discussion of the third annual report on the Global Peace Index (the first study ever to rank the nations of the world by their ‘state of peacefulness’—peacefulness being defined as the ‘absence of violence’) presented some results of measuring peace; how this relates to development; and the economic value of peace. The Global Peace Index is an initiative of Mr. Steve Killelea, a highly esteemed International Trustee of Religions for Peace.
