Internships

Do you love learning about other religions? Are you a "peace and justice" person? Are you looking for a meaningful service learning experience to compliment your formal education?

Internship opportunities are available at Religions for Peace - USA for New York City area students interested in international affairs, human rights, sustainable development, pluralism and diversity, non-profit management, communications, and/or religious studies. You can gain work experience and discover educational growth as an intern. While the majority of internships are unpaid; flexible work plans, school-mandated mentoring administration, and job readiness reference requests are all honored.

  • I.T. and Web Development
  • Fundraising and Development
  • Research and Writing

Length of Internship: by individual arrangement.

Unpaid, but with benefits:

  • Attending forums and conferences in and around the UN and the Church Center for the UN
  • Learning about the non-profit sector and interreligious peacemaking
  • Meeting both national and international religious and political leaders
  • Flexible work schedules are available

Religions for Peace - USA envisions a world in which people of diverse religious communities live and work together in respect and mutual support, creating paths to peace.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have a strong interest in interreligious concerns
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong research skills, including Internet and traditional library-based research tools
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • May involve some national travel to assist with trainings or meetings
  • Must be reliable
