Just as  affirmation of diversity is a core principle of RFP - USA, so also is there diversity in RFP-USA's  models of membership and in its collaborative relationships.

RFP - USA welcomes institutions as Member Communities and Affiliates; it also welcomes individuals as Leadership Council members or as  Sustainers. Member Communities are US religious organizations or networks that subscribe to the vision, mission, and programming of Religions for Peace - USA. While they may have advocacy, education, or social action components, their main function is to support the beliefs or practices of adherent of a particular religion. Preference is given to national organizations or networks, but regional and local bodies may be considered for membership, especially those for whom no national structure is in place. Member Communities make annual substantive contributions to the financial stability of Religions for Peace - USA. Member Communities have a seat on the Council of Presidents and a seat on the Executive Council. 

Affiliates are organizations, networks, foundations, and non-profit organizations who do not meet the criteria of "Member" but support the misison and programming of RFP-USA by their substantive contributions to RFP-USA operations. A representative of a Religions for Peace - USA Affiliate may be given a seat on the Executive Council or a particular Task Force at the discretion of the RFP-USA Nomination Committee. The category of Affiliate also includes particular scholars, issue-based experts, and other individuals historically involved with Religions for Peace - USA. They may serve ad personam on Task Forces as needed or otherwise work with the staff and Steering Committee to generate ideas and offer advice on programming and other aspects of the organization.

The Leadership Council is a select circle of individuals who assist the Executive Council in securing the financial capacity necessary for the growth and development of Religions for Peace - USA, cooperate with the Finance Committee as instructed by the Executive Council in the management of the organization's assets and provide expertise and contacts in their relevant fields. Such individuals contribute annually to the Religions for Peace - USA operating fund. They may be invited to assist a programming task force, and may be invited to sit in on meetings of the Executive Council and Council of Presidents meetings in order to take an active role in discussions concerning the programming and vision of Religions for Peace - USA.

Sustainers are corporations and individuals who make substantial contributions annually to the RFP-USA operating fund, and may also support RFP-USA through volunteer service or other means. RFP-USA welcomes new corporate sustainers.
